I think it’s fair to say that most of us would choose to suffer less if we could. As Haruki Murakami wrote, “Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional.” There is an important difference between unavoidable emotional pain and the mental suffering we create for ourselves through resistance, self-judgement or when we get stuck in old patterns of thought.
As your counselor, my aim is to help you help yourself attain total holistic health - nothing less. In my experience, the most valuable tools for self-healing include curiosity, accountability, grace, and forgiveness. I believe the answers you seek are already within you, written on your heart, waiting to be discovered.
My integrative counseling style draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy (SIP), as well as the use of mindfulness and somatic techniques. This means our work together will focus on helping you clarify what truly matters to you, building skills to navigate difficult thoughts and emotions, and learning to stay present - even in hard moments. Mindfulness and body-based (somatic) practices are often woven in to support healing, emotional regulation, and deeper self-awareness. My hope is that you’ll leave counseling with the confidence and tools to continue growing on your own, staying only as long as it truly serves you.
I work with adults and teens on a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, codependency, trauma, life transitions, self-esteem, stress, and the connection between emotional and physical health.
